Anthony Wright served as senior group manager at Ausley Associates Inc. in Maryland for five years. While at the Maryland company, Anthony Wright managed multiple government support contracts and was responsible for negotiating contracts, training, mentorship, and hiring. His current interests include data science and innovative solutions for U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition improvement.

Formed on September 18, 1947, the DoD keeps the United States secure by providing military forces when the need arises. Headquartered at the Pentagon, DoD is part of the executive branch of the U.S. government.

The Government Accounting Office has cited the need for the DoD to improve its acquisition processes, which it has stated are at high risk for fraud, abuse, and waste. Data science could be key to improving these processes.

With the aid of data science, DoD could optimize its acquisition process, including development, procurement, evaluation, and deployment of equipment. Data science and analytics potentially could facilitate just-in-time deployment of new systems, identify critical solutions for unsolved acquisition challenges, and ensure cost containment.
